Studio M02 U is focused on introducing and training students to act in the field of participatory urban design, as well as for expert work on urban projects for complex, central urban areas, using the active involvement of the public, local community and other relevant stakeholders in the processes of urban planning, design and implementation. While using various participatory methods and techniques, students explore the role of urban design in the urban development processes.
Practical learning involves exploring the development opportunities of complex urban spaces. The possibilities and limitations in which the urban design field finds its adequate role in the development processes of the city are explored, applying various methods and techniques that ensure the participation of the most relevant stakeholders in these processes. With the active involvement of selected stakeholders, the potential of proposed development programs will be explored while also looking at the potential effects of implementing specific projects and exploring the possibilities of their territorial and/or thematic networking.
