AMUSEMENT PARK: TERRITORY OF THE EPHEMERAL SPECTACLE
The goal of the task is to examine and develop the potential and a design project for creating events and temporary architectural objects within the location of the lower town of Kalemegdan as the territory of the ephemeral spectacle. The task is open to creative upgrades and re-examining the traditional understanding of the relationship between temporary and permanent both in terms of the relationship between form and function and in the context of redefining the concept of an amusement park. The territory of an ephemeral spectacle is a city, or a part of a city, physically defined as a concentrated or dispersive spatial formation. Participation in the conceptualization and spatial interpretation of festivals, concerts, alternative stage events, fair spaces, artistic performances, and performative arts is a task and an obligation of the architectural profession. In this field, there is potential for a creative and expressive space and an opportunity for research in the domain of architectural design, model testing of architectural compositions, and the definition of alternative typological variants. In the programmatic (theoretical) part of the task, students are expected to design a scenario for a cultural (entertainment, educational, performative, artistic, sports, tourist, etc.) event, to define activities and spatial-programmatic needs, and to create an architectural project through broader conceptual thinking.
