The project and the thesis deal with the questioning of the disciplinary role of the prison, more precisely, the goal of its actions. Understanding the ideology of relations and the hierarchy of power that the Panopticon project brings with it into today’s social system is the starting point of the research.
It strives to design an institution whose primary purpose is to provide a new chance to an individual, using a modified system of the modern “all-seeing eye”.
The goal is to restore the control and balance of monitoring from a decentralized position to an adapted, controlled centralized system, in order to use the possibilities of its ubiquity.
The methodological approach and analysis of the spatial programming solution itself resulted from a theoretical examination and understanding of the theory of Deleuze and Guattari, which deals with rhizomic power relations. The adaptability and fluidity of such a system directly influenced the shaping and understanding of the layered structure, which thus enables the formation of clear boundaries between private and public.
