HUB
A hub is seen as the central or main part of the activity of something. The aim of the assignment is to re-examine the current architectural concepts typologically determined by function in the context of apparent virtual forms of immaterial labor. The problematic issue is what it could be in terms of the focus of these activities that are dispersedly dislocated and yet, at least symbolically, directed to the “center”? In this regard, the issues of dislocation of the physical human body, its virtuality and the effects of intangible work are problematized. The specific goal of the course is directed at the design research process, which has as its subject the conceptualization and development of a programmatic and conceptual architectural-urbanistic solution in Block 20 in New Belgrade. Theoretical classes: The course envisages the following research corpus: theoretical consideration of the logic of immaterial labor and the repercussions these procedures have in relation to the architectural space and business program; the existence of an architectural project; phenomenological study of the project; reflection of instrumentalization in an architectural project, etc. Overlapping analogies of image and projection, montage and collage, perspective and movement, are used as a research procedure in which students develop a body of specific theoretical-philosophical and design knowledge in the field of architecture, and improve their critical-polemical thinking in relation to the complexity of the process of creation today. Comparative analysis of existing programmatic and spatial concepts of architectural objects – relevant examples from contemporary architectural practice. Practical classes: Consideration of potential new spatial-programmatic solutions, definition and valorization of the concept. Defining the programmatic and spatial concept of work. Elaboration of a detailed project program with relevant architectural and urbanistic parameters. Development of a conceptual architectural and urban solution.
