STUDENT RESEARCH CENTER ON THE DANUBE
The general goal of the task is to explore the potential and ways of articulating the space for students’ research work in a separate and authentic natural environment. The emphasized aspect of the research is the relationship between the architectural concept and the existing natural and created environment. The specific task is to design the conceptual, program and architectural-urban solution of the new student research-educational center at the selected location in Stari Banovci on the riverbank of the Danube. The work in the studio starts from the program setting which is articulated within the work on the subject seminar. Through insight into appropriate examples from the literature and various norms, the software solution is individually specified and dimensioned in accordance with the conditions on the location and spatial possibilities related to the planned contents. In parallel, the research of spatial characteristics and potentials of the selected location in Stari Banovci is initially performed, as well as the analysis of planning norms and functional characteristics of the set program. In the work on the task, students develop skills and knowledge of architectural design through analytical work, theoretical background and concrete realization of the conceptual architectural-urban project. The task is to implement a software and architectural solution in the following phases: 1. Diagram program concept; 2. Spatial articulation and form conception; 3. Project elaboration and presentation
