CYBERFORMANCE: PRIMARY SCHOOL, BELVILLE, NEW BELGRADE
The aim of the course is for the student to build a fund of specific theoretical and philosophical knowledge in the field of theory of the art of architecture applicable to the thematic framework of the studio. During the course, students explore the concept of performance as theater without theater and its redefinition in relation to virtual space (digital performance, avatar, cyborg, etc.). The special goal of the course is focused on the theoretical understanding of torsion performed by the concept of virtual space on the architectural program and consequently space. The subject of the seminar is the theorizing of the topology of virtual space in order to understand the possible consequences in relation to the architectural program and space. The idea is to notice the changes in the structure of the way of life brought about by the phenomenon of the use of virtual space and related tools. The theoretical insight of the seminar starts from the ontological understanding of space as a fragment of the totality of the interior (World) in which something is happening somewhere. In this regard, the dialectical turn is theoretically investigated, primarily in redefining the corpus of programs and infrastructure which instrumentalizes the transformation of the typology and topology of the traditional school. Further theoretical insight will consider the relationship between a possible change in the typology and the ideological framework in which it is located or could be placed. Through the seminar, students affirm the reflection on ideology, topology and typology and their connections in order to re-examine the practical possibilities of transformation of traditional typological forms, their decomposition (and deconstruction) and the possibility of new constructions, programs, spaces and new concepts.
