ADA CIGANLIJA-OASIS OF EDUCATION
The goal of the studio task is to initiate analytical thinking, develop the ability to perceive, as well as recognize the character and features of the proposed location. Special emphasis is placed on the improvement of space and its qualities through the design of necessary, but also innovative contents with the aim of promoting the architectural profession. Through education in a general sense, to present and bring closer the scope of architectural activities, both to the professional community and to all potential users of space. The main goal of the task is the presentation and popularization of education through formal and / or non-formal forms of education in accordance with current trends in architectural design. The emphasized need for the transfer of knowledge, technologies, innovative principles and the application of professional standards is present in all spheres of human activity, even in the field of architecture. Architecture as a documentary and materialized record of history and culture, represents a repository of information based on the transfer of knowledge. The central question is how architectural space, with its different layers of information, can open up as a source of knowledge and become accessible to the general public. The spatial framework of the task is represented by Ada Ciganlija – the recreational center of Belgrade. Using the character and creditworthiness of the existing infrastructure, analysis of the morphology of the terrain, as well as the identification of missing contents, it is necessary to create an educational center on / next to the water. This center would represent not only an “island of education” in the urban environment, but also a relevant factor in improving the location itself and social benefits of wider significance. In accordance with the tendencies of modern society, the complex should aim to develop a modern and efficient (applicable) presentation program, but also professional training and development.
