SPATIAL STRUCTURES: MEREOLOGICAL TECTONICS
Introducing students to the complex issues of spatial structures in architecture and methods of their design / construction. During the work, the approaches, procedures, technologies and tools that enable will be tested shaping and constructing spatial structures through implementation in the process construction of unconventional, rational, physically feasible, objects in limited context conditions. Theoretical classes include presentations on typology and morphology spatial structures, processes and procedures for their generation, analysis, optimization, materialization and construction. Presentations are provided to students theoretical and methodological knowledge and skills needed to master the project task. Practical teaching is conceived as research through a project, and it implies work on a specific task as a basis for forming a methodological procedure and perfecting the individual design process. Project program framework the task is the Research Center for Spatial Structures, while the spatial framework complex of the Science and Technology Park Belgrade in Veljka Dugoševića Street on Zvezdari. Theoretical and practical teaching is focused on the research topic of meteorology tectonics. Mereology deals with formal research of the part-whole relationship: works towards the whole and between parts within the whole. This theory will be the basis for development of open-ended generative systems for creating variables spatial structures. Starting from variable finite elements / units / cells / modules / using different generative patterns will be constructed structure / assembly / agglomeration / modular continuum. Through this topic to the studio digitally intelligent architecture will be explored, an approach that belongs to that which is called another digital craft.
